A collaboration between the two brands results in new off-the-wall pieces for those who will never stop exploring
Bringing your street style swag along with you on a short hike or Icelandic journey is now possible. With the heritage silhouettes of Vans and the ever-advanced technology of The North Face, a new weather-proof capsule collection has been made. Vault by Vans x The North Face provides the most fashionable protection against the elements. With seven pieces all in all, the collection is comprised of three versions each of Vans’ Sk8-Hi MTE LX and Desert Chukka MTE LX silhouettes and a collaborative take on The North Face’s Nuptse jacket.
The Sk8-Hi MTE LX is available in Black, Blue Graphite/Surf the Web, and Deep Teal/Toast. The collaborative model boasts of The North Face’s DRI-LEX materials as well as a HydroSeal membrane. These features help in redistributing moisture, in protecting feet from any external fluids, and in resisting abrasion. The Desert Chukka MTE LX, in turn, is lined with fleece for warmth and is available in Black, Hale Navy, and Toast colorways.
Both models feature gusseted tongues, reversed waffle lug outsoles, superior heat retention measures, The North Face winterGRIP tech, and water-repellant leather and suede uppers. With the ability to retain at least 9 Fahrenheit at all times within the shoe and the promise of 20% better slip resistance, these kicks are definitely some of your best bets for a mountainous adventure.
In addition to the shoes, the two brands also worked on a new iteration of the Nuptse jacket. The iconic checkerboard pattern of Vans found its way onto the signature outerwear staple of The North Face through a tonal black-on-black print. The jacket is water-repellant and lined with down insulation as well as double-layered taffeta padding.
